A Love Story of Two Famous Pakistani Artists

Shehryar Zaidi is a famous actor and singer from Pakistan. He has worked in many popular TV dramas like Pyare Afzal, Mann Mayal and Kankar. He is also known for his kind nature and strong voice.

Shehryar Zaidi was married to Nayyara Noor. She was one of Pakistan’s best classical and playback singers. Sadly, Nayyara Noor passed away a few years ago after fighting cancer.

Not a Usual Meeting

Shehryar Zaidi recently came on a TV show on PTV Home. The show was hosted by Sundus Jameel. On the show shehryar told the story of how he met his wife Nayyara Noor.

He said “We did not meet at a radio station or on TV. We first met at music competitions between colleges. I was singing for my college and she was singing for hers.”

They met during these music events and started talking to each other. Shehryar said that either National College or Alhamra College would win. That is how they saw each other many times.

Shehryar remembered one event very clearly. He said Nayyara sang a very hard classical song. The song was Chha Rahi Kaali Ghata by Begum Akhtar.

He was amazed when he heard her sing. Who is this girl singing such a hard song? he thought. From that moment he wanted to know more about her.

They became friends and talked more at each event. Slowly, their friendship turned into love.

After knowing each other for some time they decided to get married. Shehryar said that they could not imagine being with anyone else.

He said, “If we had not met it would have been a big problem. We were made for each other.”

Their Musical Family

Shehryar and Nayyara had two sons, Jaffer Zaidi and Naad e Ali Zaidi. Both of their sons are musicians too. Jaffer is known for his work in the band Kaavish. Their family is known for its deep love of music.

Even after Nayyara Noor passed away her voice and songs are still loved by many. People remember her as the Queen of Melody in Pakistan.
